Flax seed is healthy, loaded with nutrients, the best plant source which contains Omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants etc.. Obviously all these all these lectures would fail with the kids and easy way to get these goodness to the kids is by masking them under taste buds with Yummy good.
Yet another effort was to prepare tasty Flax Seed Chutney Powder. It is usually served as an accompaniment for rice and can go well with Idly or Dosa as well.
Ingredients needed
- 1.5 cup Flax seeds
- 3/4 cup Coriander seeds
- 3/4 cup Ground nut seeds (this adds the taste and suppresses the blandness in flax seed)
- 1/2 tea spoon Cumin seeds
- 15 curry leaves
- 5 red chillies (change as per your spice level)
- Salt as needed
- Dry Roast all the ingredients separately and let them cool separately.
Grinding
- Grind dry roasted Coriander seeds, red chillies, curry leaves & salt, empty into a large bowl. It shouldn't be a fine power.
- Coarsely grind roasted flax seeds and add to the above mix
- Coarsely grind roasted ground nut and add to the above mix
Flax Seed Chutney Powder is ready to server or you can store it in an container for use later.
